Netronics Bullet Press
High Velocity Cut Dramatically

Minimizes Rollover and Burr
... you get sharper edges without
secondary deburring operations!

Industrial users (see list) were the first to discover that Netronics Bullet Press technology could yield such clean, precise cuts that rollover and burring were virtually eliminated.

Multi-layered printed circuit boards could now be punched without fear that burrs would short through from one layer into another.

Parts that once required off-line deburring, cleaning and hardening could not be made in-line.

The Dawn Of A New Technology

Ohio State University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering — with an arsenal of over $8 million worth of its own state-of-the-art equipment — actively helps develop the practical application of new technologies for America's largest manufacturing corporations.

In the late 1990's, Ohio State's Engineering Research Center — funded by the National Science Foundation — began to study the benefits of high cutting speeds on the quality of blanked parts.

To perform their tests, the Ohio State team selected a Lourdes "electromagnetic impact press" ... a press which was built around technology developed and patented by Netronics founder and president, George Meyerle. This press was, in fact, a primitive version of the contemporary Netronics Bullet Press.

These studies demonstrated that higher cutting speeds, as realized in the Netronics Bullet Press, "can improve part edge quality, resulting in smaller burr height and rollover, and a larger shear zone."

The improvements in edge quality were the most dramatic when working with steel.

The Proof Is In These Pictures

The photos below, taken with an electron microscope,
show the clear improvement in edge quality
when tool speed is dramatically increased!

What This Means For You

In the words of the Ohio State team, "The overall goal is to improve the blanking process in such a way that the produced part does not need to be reworked."

The Netronics High Velocity Bullet Press lets you achieve this cost saving goal in two ways.

First, because burring is virtually eliminated, the secondary deburring process is eliminated.

Second, because deburring is unnecessary, and the footprint of the Netronics Bullet Press is micro-sized, you can now produce your part in-line, because it comes out of the Netronics Bullet Press ... finished!
